The new look Bromley Golf Centre on Magpie Hall Lane was officially opened last week after a £600,000 investment from Bromley Mytime, the local charitable leisure trust and the London Borough of Bromley.
The opening event included a show from Geoff Swain, of Golf Unplugged, one of Englands leading trick shot shows. He entertained the crowd with his shots; hitting four balls at once and playing backwards.
Central to the investment is a 20-bay floodlit driving range, complete with automatic Power Tees and a refurbished clubhouse. This is in addition to last years investment at the course that included the introduction of three new holes, water features and bunkers, plus a practice area.
Geoff Swain, of Golf Unplugged, said, 2I see a lot of golf facilities and this driving range at Bromley Golf Centre is one of the best around. It has obviously been built with consideration to golfers with Power Tees, target greens and a practice bunker. Its great to see local school children here and I hope that they continue to make use of this suberb facility."
Gordon Hayward, Director of Environment and Leisure, who attended the opening said, "This improvement scheme will add greatly to the leisure offer in Bromley and further reinforce the partnership between the Council and Bromley Mytime."
Dennis Barkway, Chairman of Bromley Mytime, said, "With the new driving range and clubhouse complete and open to the public, Bromley Golf Centre can offer local golfers of all ages and abilities a wide range of golfing options all at competitive prices. We aim to continue to invest in quality services for the benefit of residents."
Bromley golf Centre has a relaxed atmosphere and an informal dress code, so whther you e a Green jacket contender or novice, come along to see waht Bromley has to offer.
